Bhadrak: At least three rooms of a family was gutted and assets worth lakhs gutted in a fire which broke out in Baudapur village under Bhadrak block in the district last night.
As per the report, sparks erupted in a room of one Harihar Nayak’s house while all his family members were asleep. Till the family came to know about the fire it had spread to at least three rooms engulfing furnitures, electronic goods and several vital documents.
Fire Brigade teams from Bhadrak rushed to the spot later in the night and contained the fire.
An electric short circuit is being suspected behind the incident.
Locals have demanded suitable financial assistance from the district administration for Harihar’s family which has been rendered homeless by the fire mishap.
