Athagarh: At least three persons of a family sustained grievous injury following a wall collapse which was caused by a hill caving due to heavy rain in Bishnupur village under Tigiria block of Cuttack district last night.
The injured have been identified as Kuna Swain (35), Ranjana Swain (30) and Litu Swain (17).
A chunk of earth from a hill located adjacent to the house where the victim family was living dislodged following heavy rain late in the night. As the collapsed portion of the hill fell on the house causing a wall of it to cave in, the victim trio who were asleep in a room of it at that time came under the debris.
The critically injured trio was rescued from the spot and rushed to Athagarh Medical by some locals. They were later shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack for better treatment.
