Bhubaneswar: Three legendary artists from Odisha will get the prestigious Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi Samman for 2016.
Renowned Odissi dance guru Ratikant Mohapatra, theatre director Dr. Satyabrata Rout and Pala singer Laxmidhar Rout are among those selected for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards.
The three eminent personalities will be awarded by the President of India at a special function in New Delhi.
The Akademi awards are being given to eminent artists in the country since 1952 as part of special measures to recognise sustained individual work and contribution to the field of arts.
