3 new police stations to be set up in Bhubaneswar-Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the proposal and announced that three new police stations and a special crime investigation branch will be established in the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate of Police to control the crime rates in the two urban areas.

The three new police stations are Pahala police station, Info Valley police station, and 42 Mouza/Bentakar police station.

Reportedly, the department will investigate and take legal action against various crimes related to organized crime, economic offenses, and drug trafficking. The special branch will operate under the leadership of a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

The branch will consist of an additional DCP, three Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACPs), nine inspectors, 12 sub-inspectors, three Assistant sub-inspector (ASIs)(communications), three constables (communications), and 27 constables, as well as 59 employees.

The Chief Minister also approved the proposal of three new police stations in the area to provide better services to the people in view of the growing population in the area under Commissionerate of Police.

The three new police stations have been upgraded to include the Pahala police outpost, which functions under Balianta police station, Info Valley police outpost, which functions under Jatani police station, and Bentakar police outpost, which functions under Cuttack Sadar police station.
