Sonepur: In yet another unfortunate incident, three persons, including a new mother, were killed following a collision between a motorbike and a car near Patrapali Chhak in Ulunda of Sonepur district on late Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as Pawan Bag and Naresh Bag of Bhatra in Sambalpur and Suru Bhaena of Binika.
The mishap took place when Suru Bhaena was returning home in the car after delivering a baby at a nearby hospital whereas Pawan and Naresh were travelling on the two-wheeler.
In the collision, the four-day-old newborn has sustained injuries and has been admitted to VIMSAR in Burla.
Post the incident, tension gripped the areas as relatives of Pawan and Naresh set the car on fire.
Meanwhile, the Police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
