Koraput: In an unfortunate incident, as many as three people were killed and five others sustained critical injuries when a truck ran over an auto-rickshaw near Dayanidhiguda under Sadar police station limits in Koraput district this evening.
According to reports, a total of eight persons were going on the three-wheeler. In the meantime, a speeding truck hit the auto-rickshaw from behind near Dayanidhiguda causing the death of three persons on the spot.
Five others, who also sustained grievous injuries following the mishap, were rushed to the local hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Sadar Police is said to have started an investigation into the matter.
