3 killed, 4 hurt in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Balasore/Sundergarh/Mayurbhanj: At least three persons were killed and four others sustained critical injuries in separate road mishaps which struck the State since last night.

As per the report, a minor boy was killed and two others sustained critical injuries after a pick-up van carrying them was hit by a speeding truck on NH-60 near Nandika Bypass under Jaleswar in Balasore district last night.

The identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The critically injured duo was rushed to Balasore District Headquarters for treatment immediately after the crash by some locals.

In a similar incident near Tensa Ghat in Bonai area in Sundergarh district today morning, at least two persons were killed after a bike they were travelling by was hit by an unknown vehicle.

The driver of the unknown vehicle managed to escape from the spot following the crash.

In the third mishap, at least two youths identified as Pudun Majhi and Singrai Majhi of Sundhal village under Gorumahisani police limits in Mayurbhanj district sustained grievous injury in a bike-truck rash near Purunapani area.

The victim duo was en-route to Bahalada when driver of the truck (Registration Number-OD 11 A 1178) lost control over the wheels and struck them from front.

Some locals first sent the injured duo to Rairangpur Medical and the shifted to Baripada Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
