3 hard core Maoists killed in police encounter on Odisha border

Malkangiri/Mulugu: As many as three hardcore Maoists have been killed in an encounter with the police on the border of Odisha’s Malkangiri district  in Mulugu of Telangana State on Monday morning.

The police found an SLR rifle, one AK47 gun and ammunition and several incriminating materials from the spot.

Reportedly, the Maoists who killed in the encounter include Sudhakar who worked as Vajedu-Venkatapuram area commander. The combing operation is underway in the area.

Earlier this month, three Maoists including two women have been shot dead in an encounter during a gunfight in Malkangiri district. The exchange of fire broke out between security forces and Maoists near Tulsi Pahad under Maithili police limits in Malkangiri district.

A combing operation by a joint team of District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) following which the firing exchange took place.
