Bhanjanagar: Expressing grief over the deaths of three children in a haystack fire in Khairachhata village under Polasara police limits in Ganjam district Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for their bereaved families.
Another child who sustained critical burn injuries in the mishap and remains under treatment at the MKCG Hospital will get free medical treatment by the government said the CM.
Notably, the four victims were playing near a haystack in the village earlier today when the hay caught fire. While all four sustained 80 per cent burn in the mishap, they were rushed to Polasara Primary Health Centre immediately.
Though the victims were shifted to MKCG Hospital for a better burn care facility, three out them succumbed subsequently.
