3 from Odisha to get Padma Shri Award this year

Bhubaneswar: It is a matter of great pride for the people of Odisha that three persons from the state will be conferred with the Padma Shri Award this year. This was announced by the Union Government this evening.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Social Work Daitari Naik, Agriculturist Kamala Pujhari and Social Work and Educationist Devarapalli Prakash Rao from the state have been selected for the country’s fourth-highest civilian award.

Likewise, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s sister Gita Mehta to get Padma Shri for her contribution in the field of Literature and Education.
