3 elephants killed after being hit by train in Odisha

Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, as many as three elephants have been killed near Joda police limits in the Keonjhar district.

Reportedly, a herd of 19 elephants was crossing the railway tracks near Behera hutting on Thursday night when the three elephants were hit by the goods train.

The three elephants including a mother elephant and two baby elephants were injured in the mishap. One among the baby elephant died last night while another two lost their lives this morning.

On getting the information, the Forest department along with the railway rescue team arrived at the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.
