Koraput: Three college students of Koraput met watery grave while bathing in Kolab dam today.
The college students belong to one Government College in Koraput.
While taking bath, the strong current of the dam swept them away and they drowned. Fellow classmates saw the incident and rescued them. They took the drowned students to Koraput Medical College and hospital via ambulance. On reaching hospital the drowned students were declared dead. The deceased were Ramakant Patnaik of Malkangiri, Sandeep Pujari of Malkangiri and Manmath Sasmal of Ganjam. They were B.Sc Computer Science, 2nd year students.
Sources reveal that they had gone there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. They accidentally got drowned while they went into the river. To take stock of the situation the Police and District sub-collector reached hospital. The family members of the deceased were informed. Postmortem will be conducted after the arrival of family, said hospital authorities.
