3 Class 9 students drown in Paradip sea; 2 rescued, 1 missing

Paradip: At least two school students were rescued and another went missing after slipping into the Paradip sea near the Light House while taking bath here this morning.

The rescued students have been identified as Subham Kulu and Sai Jyoti, students of Class 9 of Paradip Kendriya Vidyalaya. The missing classmate of the victim duo is Ansuman Das.

As per the report, a group of eight students of Kendriya Vidyalaya had reached the Paradip coast to play volleyball and watch an event of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which was being held nearby. While others in the group remained busy in playing volleyball the victim trio went to take bath in the sea and got swept away by strong current subsequently.

Fire officials and coast guard personnel immediately swung into action rescued Subham and Sai from the water.

Efforts are on to find out Ansuman who still remains missing in the sea and is feared dead.
