Keonjhar: In a tragic road mishap, three youths were killed on National Highway 215 at Angulia Square under Champua police limits in the district late on Thursday night after an unidentified vehicle hit the bike they were riding on.
The deceased have been identified as Satyajit Mahakud of Bhagatpur village in Keonjhar district and Ranjit Nayak of Gidhibas village and Amarnath Pati of Sadheikala in neighbouring Jharkhand. .
According to the family members of the victims, the trio was working for a private company in Hatimara area and was on their way to Joda on the fateful night on some assignment. They suspect that a speeding heavy vehicle could have mowed them down.
Police has reached the spot and seized the mangled bike after sending the dead bodies for autopsy. Investigation is on to track the vehicle involved in the accident.
