Koraput: A huge consignment of ‘ganja’ has been seized late at night by the police of Lamtapur in Koraput yesterday.
This is being hailed as a huge success for the Koraput police.
A Maxx Pick-up van with registration number AP-31-TC-3747, along with a Maruti Suzuki Breeza car bearing registration number OD-10-E-2700 were seized by the local police.
Police has seized 4 quintals of ‘ganja’ from the Maxx Pick-up van.
Three people have been arrested and are being questioned in this connection.
The consignment was being transported from Andhra border to Jeypore.
The police nabbed them late at night near the Lamtapur School while they were transporting the goods.
The estimated cost of the ‘ganja’ consignment is said to be around 20 lakh.
The local RTO is investigating into the owner of the vehicle and its details thereof, said sources.
