2nd round MBBS, BDS admission begins in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) has commenced the second round admission into MBBS and BDS courses in Odisha starting from today.

Admission is being conducted in a total of 304 MBBS and BDS seats comprising 259 seats belonging to the State quota for which the applicants have been told to report at the OJEE Cell, Gandamunda in the city.

During the second round of admission seats lying vacant in 10 medical colleges including those in both government and private institutions will be filled up. While the admission process will continue till August 1 the students will have to report at their respective institutions on August 3.

If seats remain vacant even after second round of admission then the spot counselling will be held between August 4 and 8 to wind up the entire admission process by August 18, informs OJEE sources.

Notably, admission to 970 MBBS and BDS seats in the State were conducted by OJEE earlier this month in the first round.

While a total 6,313 candidates had registered for medical counselling only 5,638 had paid fees to participate in the process. Later, only 3,654 candidates verified their documents.
