29 children among 229 Covid cases in Odisha, 3 deaths

Bhubaneswar: A total of 229 Covid-19 positive cases including 29 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,46,317 informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Thursday.

Among the 229 positives, 133 are quarantine cases and 96 are local contacts. However, 267 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,35,262. Therefore, currently the active cases stand at 2616.

The details of local contacts will be shared by concerned district.

Besides the State Pool reported 28 Covid cases.

Meanwhile, as many as three COVID infected patients died in the last 24 hours, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department on Tuesday taking the death toll to 8,386. Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 67 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

2. A 75 years old Male of Puri District.

3. A 79 years old Female of Sundargarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Obesity.

The department further stated that this list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

On the other hand, India reported 11,919 new cases in the last 24 hours. As many as 11,242 recoveries and 470 deaths in the country. The active caseload stands at 1,28,762.
