Around 25000 cough syrup bottles seized, 4 arrested in Odisha’s Twin Cities

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested four persons in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Tuesday after seizing around 25,000 cough syrup bottles from them.

According to sources, Badagada police conducted a raid in Kalpana area of Bhubaneswar after getting information that a youth was on his way to the state capital city from Cuttack to supply cough syrups illegally and arrested him who it identified as SK Azharudhin of Cuttack. Police also seized 320 bottles of cough syrup from him.

During interrogation, Azharudhin confessed to the crime and gave a lead to the police. Based on the information, police conducted a raid at Nandisahi in Cuttack and arrested three others – Vicky, Kuna and Ajay Agarwal. They also seized the rest of the bottles from their possessions.

The city police also seized three scooters and one mobile phone from the possessions of the accused

All the arrested persons, meanwhile, have been forwarded to court.
