26 residential school girl students test Covid-19 positive in Odisha

Mayurbhanj: Twenty six students of Chamakpur Tribal Residential Girls’ School in Thakurmunda, have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus in Mayurbhanj district, informed the district administration.

According to reports, Tehsildar, Karanjia sub-district magistrate Dr. Rajnikant Bishwal along with a medical team will arrive at the school as per the instructions of the Collector. The district administration is reportedly on high alert.

 As per sources, the boarding school has a total of 256 students and 20 staff members. Some of the students got ill on last Thursday. So, the school authority conducted a Covid-19 test of the ill students. Out of the tested students, 22 students’ report came out positive for covid-19.

And on Friday, 4 more students tested covid positive, which brought the total count to 26. So, as of yesterday, a total of 26 had been infected with coronavirus.

Out of the 26 infected students, fifteen people have been sent to the Baripada District General Hospital for Swab test. All the infected students are being kept isolated and are undergoing treatment at the school premises.

Meanwhile, the other students and their family members are worried about them being affected.
