23 More Omicron Positives Found In Odisha, Tally Rises To 37

Bhubaneswar: As many as 23 Omicron positives have been detected in Odisha today that is on January 2, 2022, informed the Institute Of Life Sciences (ILS).

So far the number of Omicron cases in the state has risen to 37.

Till Wednesday, the total number of infected was nine, as informed by the Director of the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar.

The detection of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 has been reported to the State Health Department by the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) in Bhubaneswar which is conducting the genome sequencing of the positive cases of coronavirus infection.

Here is the district-wise list of Omicron positives reported today in the State:

  • Keonjar: 7
  • Khurda: 4
  • Boudh: 2
  • Jagatsinghpur: 1
  • Balasore: 1
  • Sambalpur: 3
  • Puri: 3
  • Anugul: 2

The 23 Omicron case includes 19 males and 4 females of the 8-83 age group. All of them had minor symptoms and their health condition is said to be stable.

According to reports, the contacts of the infected persons are being traced. The preliminary report reveals that while half of the total infected persons had foreign history while other 50 per cent had locals.
