217 Odia migrants reach Ganjam, Collector urges people not to panic

Berhampur: As many as 217 Odia migrants, who had left Surat in four buses a couple of days ago, have finally reached Ganjam district. The district administration lodged them in two different schools at Dharakote and Sergarh.

The school areas and the busses were sanitized by the firefighters after their arrival. Besides, the health workers also checked the health condition of the migrant returnees.

The administration also requested the people of the district not to visit these quarantine centres and warned action against the violators.

Meanwhile, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange informed that around 2 lakh people from the district, who are stranded in other States due to ongoing COVID19 lockdown, have registered their names to return to the State.

However, he requested the people not to panic assuring that all preparations for safe quarantine of the returnees are in place.
