213 GPs get Rs 44.73 cr under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday sanctioned Rs 44.73 crore to be spent in 1,926 projects which will be implemented in 213 gram panchayats (GPs) of 10 districts.

Pattnaik approved the amount under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana at the block level after holding a discussion with the block representatives of the concerned GPs through video conferencing from the state Secretariat.

The CM sectioned the money in the presences of Chief secretary AP Padhi, Principal Secretary to Panchayati Raj, Development Commissioner, District Collectors and other senior officials.

Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 4.75 crore will be spent in 154 projects in 19 panchayats of Bologada block in Khurdha district, Rs 2.84 crore for 160 projects in 15 panchayats of Boden block in Nuapada district, Rs 7.05 crore for 403 projects in 30 panchayats of Puri Sadar block in Puri district, Rs 3.655 crore for 143 projects in 17 panchayats of Kuchinda block in Sambalpur district, Rs 4.35 crore for 127 projects in 16 panchayats of Binka block in Sonpur district and Rs 3.50 crore for 139 projects in 19 panchayats of Hemagiri block in Sundargarh district.

Similarly the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 5.51 crore has been sanctioned for 330 projects in 21 panchayats of Harabhanga block in Boudh district, Rs 3 crore for 165 projects in 14 panchayats of Tigiria block in Cuttack district, Rs 4.56 crore for 114 projects in 38 panchayats of Mohana block in Gajapati district and Rs 5.515 crore for 191 projects in 24 panchayats of Marshaghai block in Kendrapada district.

Till date, the CM has allocated a total of Rs 729.14 crore for 29,816 projects in 3,197 panchayats of 139 blocks under the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana.
