Bargarh: The body of a 20-year-old girl was found from a forest near Temari village under Paikmal police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Tuesday.
According to reports, locals noticed the semi-clad decomposed body this morning when they went to the forest to attend nature’s call.
On being informed, Paikmal police reached the spot and seized the body. “The body will be sent to the Sub-divisional Hospital in Padampur for autopsy test,” police said.
The exact cause of the death of the girl is yet to be ascertained, an official said. Prima facie it appeared that the girl was possibly raped and murdered, he added.
Sources said, the girl had been to outside on Friday evening to relive herself but didn’t return to home. Next day, her parents lodged missing complaints at Paikmal police station.
The villagers demand stringent punishment to the killers and adequate compensation to the deceased’s family.
