Baliguda: More than 20 persons including 6 children sustained injury, while 10 of them sustained critical injury as a passenger bus skidded off a bridge in Kandhamal district of Odisha on Friday. The accident took place near Shrambhukia Bridge under Baliguda Police limits of the district.
As per reports, a private passenger bus named ‘Om Bhabani’ was on its way to Budaguda from Kotgarh today afternoon when the driver lost control over the steering near the bridge and resultantly the bus fell down 15 feet off the bridge.
Following the accident the locals rushed to the spot and helped out the distressed passengers. They rushed the injured persons to Baliguda hospital for treatment.
The driver of the bus has allegedly fled from the scene following the accident. Baliguda Police reached the spot and initiated investigation.
