Nabarangpur: At least two youths were killed after being struck by lightning in Badadei village under Papadahandi block in Nabarangpur district last evening.
The deceased have been identified as Biswambar Nayak (20) and Mahendra Bhatara (19) of the same locality.
The victims had gone missing after leaving their house at around 7 pm last night to catch fish. Later, a frantic search by their family to trace them had gone in vain.
Their death came to light this morning after some villagers spotted the bodies of Biswambar and Mahendra lying in a farmland near the village with burn injuries caused by lightning strike and informed their family members.
Later, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy.
