Angul: In yet another road mishap in the state, a driver remained stuck inside his vehicle for almost 2 hours on NH-55 near Kalabeda in Angul district today, after two trucks crashed head-on.
The mishap took place at around 8.30 am in the morning when an onion-laden truck was en-route to deliver the consignment in Angul. Driver of another speeding truck which was carrying coal and coming from the opposite direction lost control over the wheels near Kalabeda and struck the onion truck.
The impact of the collision was so serious that both the vehicles got completely mangled in the accident leaving the driver of the onion-laden truck trap inside his vehicle.
Police along with fire department officials rushed to the spot immediately and rescued the victim driver from the truck after a Herculean effort. He rushed to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
On the other hand, the driver and helper of the other truck managed escape the accident unhurt.
Police have seized both the vehicles from the spot.
