Cuttack: Two students went missing while taking bath at the Dhabaleswar ghat of Mahanadi River here this morning.
The missing duo has been identified as Class X student of Ravenshaw Collegiate School Ritesh Pradhan and +2 First Year student of Christ College Subhankar Panda.
Subhankar and Ritesh, who reside in the CDA area of the city, had gone to the Dhabaleswar areas this morning and were taking bath at a nearby ghat when they slipped into the river in a moment of indiscretion. Some bystanders, who first noticed them, tried to rescue them but failed due to heavy current in the river.
Police and fire brigade teams have reached the spot and started a rescue operation to trace the duo.
