2 poultry shop owners stabbed to death in Balasore

Balasore: At least two poultry outlet owners were stabbed to death by some miscreants for not selling chicken on credit near Digirania-Nangudi road under Chandipur police limits in the district last night.

The deceased have been identified as Tapan Jena and his brother Bikash Jena alias Bidua of Nangudi village.

The siblings, who ran a poultry outlet beside Digirania-Nangudi Road were reportedly approached by two youths of neighbouring villages to buy chicken on credit last evening. A heated argument erupted between the two sides after the siblings refused for credit sale. However, the youth duo identified as Thapa of Padagan and Pandu of Patrapada villages returned to their homes and returned late in the evening with a group of aides and attacked the deceased duo with sharp weapons at the shop.

While Tapan bled profusely following the attack and died on the spot, Bikash succumbed under treatment at the Balasore DHH after being rushed there.

Chandipur Police has lodged a case in the incident and started investigation.
