Kendrapara: In an unfortunate incident, two sisters have drowned in a water body in their village in Kendrapara district of Odisha on Sunday.
According to reports, the two sisters were minors and were aged two and three years respectively drowned while trying to collect small boats from a water body at Barimula village under Sadar police station in Kendrapara.
The two minors were daughters of Bipin Mallick, a resident of Barimula village.
Since the siblings did not return home for a long time, the parents got tensed and searched for them and then recovered their bodies from the water body.
The sadar police then reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
A pall of gloom has descended on the village following the incident.
