Rayagada: At least two persons have been killed over a witchcraft-related dispute which took place at Suklabhatta village under Ambadala police limits in Rayagada district today.
As per the report, a verbal duel erupted between a group of people in the village and one Makar Nayak whom they were suspecting of practising black magic this morning. Later, as the argument escalated further Nayak was thrashed mercilessly causing his death.
Soon after the incident, to avenge the murder the victim’s younger brother namely Nakula Nayak attacked one Karunkakar of the other group with sharp weapon resulting in the latter’s death.
Police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused with the weapon of crime from the spot and rushed the bodies for autopsy.
Further investigation is underway in the killing.
