2 killed in separate road crash in Odisha

Dhenkanal/Nayagarh: At least two persons have been killed in separate road mishaps which took place in Dhenkanal and Nayagarh districts in the state on Monday.

In the first instance, a youth lost control over his bike and ended up hitting a roadside safety barrier at Kulei Square on NH-149 under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district this morning. He sustained grievous head injury in the crash and died on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Samal of Bangura village under Kamakhyanagar area.

Police rushed the body for postmortem after reaching the spot and started investigation into the incident.

In a similar incident in Nayagarh, a car bearing registration number OD 02 AM 0780 skidded off the road at Rajakiari Square under Khandapada police limits and ended up hitting a roadside tree. While the mishap took place after the victim identified as Dharanidhar Panda lost grip over the wheels, he was killed on the spot.

Dharani, a resident of Jayamangalpur village under Narasinghpur block of Cuttack district was returning to his home from Bhubaneswar after some work when the mishap occurred.

Police sent the body for autopsy after seizing the mangled car.
