2 killed, 4 hurt as ambulance hits stationary truck in Jajpur

Jajpur: In yet another road mishap in the State, at least two persons were killed and four others sustained critical injuries after an ambulance hit a truck at Chhatia Chhak in Jajpur last night.

The identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

As per the report, the 108 ambulance was carrying a patient and four attendants from Dasarathpur to Cuttack late in the night when the driver failed to spot a stationary truck on the road at Chhatia Chhak due to dark.

As the ambulance rammed into the truck from behind two of its passengers died on the spot. Four others including the driver of the vehicle sustained critical injuries in the crash.

The injured have been rescued from the mangled vehicle and admitted to SCB Medical in Cuttack.

Police have seized the mangled ambulance.
