Keonjhar/Bhubaneswar: Two persons died and four others sustained critical injuries in two separate road accidents in Keonjhar and Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
In the first incident, two persons were killed on the spot and one sustained critical injury after the scooter they were travelling on hit a stationary truck from behind. The road mishap took place on NH-20 near Siddha Matha in Keonjhar district at around 4 AM.
While the grievously injured person has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, the mortal remains of the deceased persons have been taken to the same hospital for autopsy.
Local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
In the second such incident, irate locals staged a road blockade near 7th Battalion of Odisha Police at Xavier Square in the state capital city after a speeding bike hit three pedestrians.
Commissionerate Police rushed to the spot and managed to lift the road blockade by pacifying the angry locals.
The injured were admitted to Capital Hospital. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
