Bhawanipatna: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed while 25 others were injured after a speeding truck collided head on with a pickup van carrying wedding band party near Kalopala on NH-26 under Junagarh police limits in Kalahandi district late on Tuesday night.
According to sources, the road mishap took place when the wedding band party van was on its way to Jayapatna from Junagarh.
One of the two deceased died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries at the district headquarters hospital in Bhawanipatna, added the sources.
All the injured were rushed to the Junagarh hospital. However, five of them were shifted to Bhawanipatna hospital as their condition deteriorated.
Junagarh police has initiated an investigation into the incident.
