Subarnapur: In a tragic incident, two persons were killed while two others were injured critically when a truck runs over them while they were waiting for the bus on the roadside at Cherupalli Chhak in Binika of the district.
The deceased have been identified as Surendra Garia of Saulapur and Rukh Bharasagar of Kaudiamunda.
According to reports, the accident took place when an LPG cylinder-laden truck (OR-02-Y 4232) ran over four persons including Garia and Rukh. While Garia and Rukh died on the spot other two were injured severely following the accident. They were rushed to the Binika hospital for medication. All of them waiting for the bus to return to their homes.
After getting information about the road mishap, Binika police rushed to the spot and seized the truck and sent the bodies to the hospital for postmortem. Binika tahsildar also visited the accident site and took stock of the situation.
Police have started an investigation into the matter after registering a case. Besides, they have launched a search operation to trace the driver and helper of the vehicle who went absconding soon after the accident.
