2 killed, 2 critical in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Soro/Jharsuguda: At least two persons were killed and equal number sustained critical injury in separate road mishaps in Odisha this morning.

In the first instance in Soro of Balasore district, one Manas Mallick of Kasapa Jaipur village was killed after the bike he was traveling by was hit by a speeding truck on NH-16 at Chitapada diversion under Khantapada Bazar. A woman who was riding pillion with Manas also sustained grievous injury in the mishap.

The injured identified as Kabita Mallick was first taken to Khantapada hospital and then shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) by local police.

The deceased was sent to a nearby hospital for autopsy later and an investigation ordered.

Later in the morning in Jharsuguda, a youth namely Asutosh Singh (22) was killed after his bike crashed near Baraghat bridge. Another person who was traveling pillion with the victim namely Sudarshan Kandulina sustained critical injury in the accident and was rushed to VIMSAR in Burla by police.

Asutosh was returning home from Jharsuguda after completing some work when the mishap took place.
