Boudh: At least two persons were killed and another sustained critical injuries after two truck crashed head-on at Guduguda Chhak under Manamunda police limits in Boudh district last night.
The deceased are Uttam Sahu of Charichhak area and Kuna Manik of Pichukuli of Khordha district. Both the victims are drivers of the crashed trucks.
As per the report, one of the truck involved in the accident was carrying a vegetable consignment from Bargarh to Bhubaneswar when the accident took place. Driver of another soft drink laden truck which was travelling in the opposite direction lost control over the wheels due to some reason and ended up ramming into the vegetable-laden truck from the front.
While both the vehicles overturned post the collision the driver duo were killed on the spot.
The seriously injured helper of one of the truck was rushed to the local hospital by Manamunda Police later in the night.
Police have seized the bodies of the deceased for autopsy and started investigation into the mishap.
