Baripada: At least two persons were killed and another sustained critical injury in a head-on collision between two bikes which took place at Betanasia Chhak under Rasgobindpur police limits in the wee hours today.
The deceased duo has been identified as Kamalalochan Raul of Baunsabani village under Singla Police Station and Gopiram of Basta area of neighbouring Balasore district.
As per the report, the victim trio had been to nearby villages in some work last night and were returning to their respective villages in the wee hours when the crash took place. Rider of one of the bike involved in the accident failed to spot the road due to dark and ended up dashing against the other from the front.
While, Kamala and Gopi died on the spot, the injured whose identity is not knows was rushed to SCB Medical in Cuttack in critical condition by some locals.
Rasgobindpur Police has arrived at the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy after seized the mangled bikes.
