2 ITBP jawans martyred in gun battle with Maoists in Chhattisgarh

Malkangiri: In sad incident, at least two security personnel were reportedly martyred during exchange of fire in the forest in Narayanpur district of Chhatishgarh in Odisha’s Malkangiri boarder on Friday – Narayanpur’s Superintendent of Police informed.

As per reports, two ITBP (Indo Tibetan Boarder Police) jawans were killed during the gun battle with the ultras today. One of the martyred jawans is an ASI of ITBP while the other is an Assistant Commandant.

The exchange of fire took place in the Kariameta Forest in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. The Maoists reportedly took away the bullet proof jacket, ammunition and AK 47 rifles of the security personnel. Police suspect that some of the Maoists are also killed in the gun battle though it is yet to be confirmed.
