Angul: In a major success against inter-state looters’ gang in the district, police arrested at least two miscreants from Nalco Nagar area here last night with the help of Nalco security guards.
The held burglars have been identified as Mohammad Shakir (30) and Soham Khan (22) of Rayagada of Chhattisgarh State.
As per the report, the duo involved in a number of burglaries in Titlagarh and Nalco Nagar area was nabbed by Nalco Security Guards while hatching a loot plan.
The guards also seized two fake number plates bearing registration number CG13V8872, 3 mobile phones, one camera, two camera lenses, gold ornaments weighing 55 gram, a number of luxury watches, Rs 13000 in cash and a Honda car from the accused duo before handing over them to police.
Police said, the held accused were involved in looting valuable gold and silver ornaments in Titlagarh last year. They were on Angul Police’s radar after looting a number of earrings and Rs 20,000 in cash from a doctor’s house in Nalco Nagar last Sunday.
