2 held for stealing power cables from transformer in Cuttack

Cuttack: In a success to police against power cable thieves in the Millenium city, they have arrested two persons who were stealing Copper wires from trasformers and then selling them to make money.

The held persons have been identified as Padan Bhoi (35) and Saroj Bhoi (23).

Markatnagar Police was investigating electric wire theft case in which the burgalars had stolen copper wires from two 250 Kv and 500 Kv transformers located near AIBET college on 14 May, when the accused came under its clutches. After conducting a raid in Belubuiya Square near Mausima Temple last night it arrested the duo.

During the raid, the police also seized stolen copper wire worth of lakhs, plastic bag, and a bike used in the loot from the possession of the held accused.

The duo has been forwarded to court after interrogation.
