Kandhamal: In yet another case of cyber-crime in the state, police arrested two youths in the district today on charges of raping a college girl after blackmailing her to post her nude photos online.
The accused have been identified as Bikash Mallick of Kalisa Padar village under Tumudibandha police limits and Manoj Nayak of Kaugota village under Belghar police limits.
As per the complaint filed by the victim, a student of NSB Junior College in Tumudibandha area had an affair with one of the accused Manoj for past few months, during which the latter had clicked few photographs of their intimate moments on his phone. However, after the couple had a break-up later, Manoj teamed up with his friend Bikash and started blackmailing her. Threatening to make the photos viral, the duo established physical relationship with her time and again in the past few days.
Police arrested the accused duo from their respective villages after recording the statement of the victim under Sections 376 (2) (n), 506 of IPC and 66 (A) of the IT Act.
