2 die in car-bike head-on collision in Odisha’s Gajapati dist

Gajapati: In a tragic incident at least two people died in a road accident in Gajapati district of Odisha on Monday. The accident took place near Palli Gajapati village under Mohana police limits.

The 2 deceased persons have been identified as Subit Bardhan and Jacob Bardhan of Bikrampur village under Mandimera Panchayat of Adva Police station. They are said to be cousin brothers.

According to reports, Subit and Jacob were returning from Adva to Mohana on a bike. Near Palli Gajapati village the bike collided face-to-face with a car that was approaching from the opposite direction.

After the accident, both the injured persons were rushed to the Mohana health Center by an ambulance for treatment but the doctor there declared them dead.

Mohana police have seized both the vehicles and sent the dead bodies for autopsy to MKCG Medical in Berhampur.

A case has been registered in this connection and further investigation of the case is underway, said Police official Sujit Kumar Nayak.
