2 dead, 2 critical in SUV crash in Odisha

Two people have been killed and two others have been seriously injured in an SUV accident in Keonjhar district of Odisha.

Joda: In a tragic incident, an SUV lost control and hit a tree in Keonjhar district of Odisha on Wednesday, killing two on the spot said reports.

According to reports, the Bolero (Sports Utility Vehicle) lost control and hit a tree near Champua police station near Ramchandrapur.

Reports say that two people have died on the spot and two have been seriously injured. The accident happened late last night while returning from a wedding party in Jharkhand.

The deceased persons have been identified as Binod Barik and Niladri Ghana of Koida police limits. The two injured persons have been transferred to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

The investigation is underway by the Champua police. Further detailed report awaited in this regard.

Earlier today, as many as eleven people were left injured after a bus collided head-on with a pickup van on Wednesday. The incident took place on National Highway number 57 near Charichaka tehsil office in Boudh district of Odisha.

The injured people have been admitted to the Purunakatak community health centre.

According to reports, the passenger bus carrying over 40 people collided head-on with a pickup van coming from the opposite direction. Over 10 people were injured in the accident.

The other passenger had a narrow escape from being injured in the accident. Later they were sent to their respective destinations in another vehicle. Purunakatack police reached the spot and are conducting an investigation.
