19 common krait snake hatchlings found in Odisha’s Puri district: Watch

Puri: After 61 days, 19 common krait baby snakes hatched in a house in Puri district of Odisha. These hatchlings will be released to the forest, says report. The video clip of the said snake hatchlings has gone viral.

As per reports, two months back Braja Kishore Sahu, a snake catcher as well as snake helpline member received a call where someone sought his help to catch a common krait snake in Konark area of the district.

On the basis of the phone call Sahu visited the spot and rescued the snake. He brought the common krait snake to his house and kept it for two days. After two days he observed that the snake had laid 19 eggs.

Later, Sahu released the mother snake to the forest while put the eggs in a jar. After 61 days he observed that 19 common krait hatchlings hatched from the eggs. He has informed that all these snake hatchlings will be released into the forest in presence of the Forest officials of Konark Forest Department.
