Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 positive cases in twin city of Odisha seems to be approaching toward 2000 mark. 1816 Covid-19 positive cases were recorded in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on January 15. Bhubaneswar recorded 1233 positive cases while Cuttack city reported 583 new Covid-19 cases.
According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 1233 positive cases registered today, 29 cases are quarantine cases while 1204 cases are local contact cases.
With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,32,215. The recovered cases are 1,23,782. The total deceased cases are 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 7309.
In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 583 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 89 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 230 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 264 local contact cases were recorded today.
The total cases in CMC are 50,003 while the recovered cases are 45,995. Active cases today are 3579 while the deaths are 429.
The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 15 are 416 and 157 respectively.
Odisha has reported over 10,000 covid-19 positive cases for the third consecutive day. The state on Saturday reported a massive spike in Covid cases with 10, 856 positive cases including 3087 cases from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.
The total cases include 1021 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.
Among the 10,856 positives, 6293 are quarantine cases and 3511 are local contacts. There are a total of 61,809 active cases. The new recoveries stand at 2216. The positivity rate stands at 14.48%
