17 places under 10°C in Odisha, Orange warning issued to few districts

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave weather condition in Odisha will continue to prevail for the next three days, informed the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar.

Reportedly, as many as 17 places have recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. The weather department has issued an orange warning to seven districts. Due to this Odisha SRC has issued a warning in view of the bone-chilling weather.

Reportedly, Daringbadi recorded a low 4.5 degree Celcius while Phulbani recorded 3.6°C. Snowfall has been reported in some parts of Kandhamal, including Phulbani.

Since the past two days, small snow sheets have been found on cars, trees, grass surfaces in Daringbadi. Heavy fog along with the cold wave has disrupted public life across the State.

Apart from Daringbadi and Phulbani, as many as 15 places in Odisha have recorded below 10°C including Chandabali at 9.7°C, Angul at 8°C, Jharsuguda at 6°C, Keonjhar at 6.4°C, Sambalpur at 8.6°C, Sundergarh at 6°C, Hirakud at 8.4°C, Talcher at 9°C, Bhawanipatna at 6.8°C, Bolangir at 8.5°C, Koraput at 7°C, Titlagarh at 6.5°C, Sonepur at 6.4°C, Nayagarh 9°C, and Boudh 8°C.

Similarly, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have recorded 10.1°C and 10.6°C respectively while Balasore at 11.1°C, Baripada at 10.4°C, Paradip at 12.4°C, Gopalpur 11.8°C, Puri at 14.4°C, Chhatrapur 11°C and Paralakhemundi 13°C.

The people across Odisha experience cold waves from evening 6 pm till next morning 10 am. As a result, people have been preferring to stay inside houses instead of their usual morning walks and exercises in parks.
