Kendrapara: A major fire broke out at Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district in Odisha on Monday night.
According to reports, as many as 16 houses were gutted in the fire for some unknown reason. The locals immediately tried to contact the officials of electricity department and fire department but unfortunately they did not receive the call.
Hence the locals themselves went to the office to inform the them about the fire mishap. However by the time the officials arrived at the spot, properties worth lakhs were reduced to ashes.
In a fit of rage, the locals stopped the fire trucks for a stretch of four hours due to which the Rajnagar main road was blocked.
They have demanded compensation for the victim families.
