16-feet-long King Cobra rescued in Balasore of Odisha

Balasore: Curiosity prevailed among residents of Kalijhati village under Kuldiha Forest Range in Balasore district today morning, after a 16-feet-long King Cobra was spotted and later rescued by forest officials.

As per the report, the King Cobra was spotted in an injured condition near the village close to the forest by some locals early in the morning. Multiple injury marks were also found on the body of the reptile. They immediately called up forest officials and reported the matter.

A team of forest department officials led by snake expert and Wild Life Warden Prakash Mardaraj rushed to the spot and rescued the snake.

The injured snake was later rushed to Nilagiri Veterinary hospital for treatment and then released into the Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary.
