Bhadrak: At least 15 labourers were hurt and three of them turned critical after a pick-up van carrying them overturned at Tulamatua village under Basudevpur block in the district on Saturday.
The incident took place in the morning while the pick-up van carrying around 26 labourers from Makhalpur village under Basudevpur Police limits was on its way to a construction site in Naichhanapur village near Betada. Near Tulamatua bridge driver of the pick-up van, which was overloaded, lost control over the wheels causing it to skid off the road and overturn into a nearby field. At least 15 labourers sustained injury in the incident.
Local fire brigade team rushed to the spot immediately after the mishap and sent the injured to Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC) where three of them turned critical.
Basudevpur Police have reached the spot and seized the pick-up van.
